Battle at Bighorn
Carl Pettersson
Carl Pettersson has had a consistent season in Europe.

Only Carl Pettersson got it to 5-under Thursday at the British Open, and a bogey at No. 18 kept him from the sole lead. Instead, he joins Duffy Waldorf and David Toms at 4-under as they took advantage of calm Muirfield. Tiger Woods escaped trouble to shoot a 1-under 70.
